Greenland

Finally! Another genuine apology to you guys for being an irresponsible blogger again. I've been planning to post this a long time ago, but I was too lazy and I was caught up with reading Fifty Shades of Grey and miraculously finish a 514-page book in just three days! Well, it should have been only two but my eyes couldn't bear it any longer. List, oh, List ( just applying something I've learned from reading Poetry today that List, oh, List is another way of signalling the readers that you are heading in another point of view regarding a subject matter. Hahaha!) let's get back to this outfit post.
This was shoot two weeks ago, gettin ready for my 18th birthday but then it was intentionally done for this beloved blog of mine. I'm trying to be a dedicated fashion blogger here. :)) So we had a funshoot at Fort San Pedro in Cebu with my classmate and friend Clyde Inso Chan. It was fun working with this guy because aside from it's the first time to shoot with him but his work ethics and professionalism is way beyond comparison. I haven't met yet someone who is as creative and spontaneous as him. He asked me to climb on a tree and sit on one of its branch, imagine my huge and bold leap to agree with this proposition
But nevertheless, climbing a tree for the first time is priceless and so is sitting on it's branch. The dress I worse is very cooperative anyway, with it's flow-y type of cloth and was very comfortable through our the shoot. The ruffle detail it contains, adds volume but doesn't make you look fat. At first, I thought I'm gonna look like a mother in this one but turns out to look like exactly the opposite.
The designs on the shoulder and the lace detail on the chest part is very classical and feminine. It brings out the lady in you at the same time make you feel like a child again. Ruffle dresses are timeless, and it's improved by the new generation of Cavalli, Dolce and Gabanna and other high-end fashion designers by adding modern touches in it.

A short trivia about Ruffle dresses; it was popularized in Spain because it was inspired mostly from Flamenco dancers and later on cut out and designed for casual wears. Ruffles are a social status symbol, even men wore this before topped by some coats because it distinguishes them from the commoners, during the 60's. Quite insteresting, isn't it? After knowing a tiny bit of information about these ruffle dresses, would you consider wearing one? :)

Shoeciety

I was browsing through the newspaper this morning, and I saw again some useful information when it comes to choosing and wearing high heels. And here comes the cliche again that pain is beauty. Well, when it comes to wearing those five inch pump shoes, there's so much pain you have to endure just to achieve the height that you wish to have even just for an hour or so. According to medical basis in Pain Relief Centers; "wearing high heels for longer than three hours can actually shorten the length of the Achilles tendon and can lead to loss of motion in the feet overtime.

But worry no more heel lovers, because here are some tips on how to put your best foot forward:

1. Pick the right shoe in the right size

  • shoes that are too small are the major culprits of pain." Women often times squeeze in their foot in to the wrong shoe size that causes damage, blisters, bunions" as stated by Dr. Newton

2. Time of the day can affect how the shoes fit

  • of the twenty four hours in a day, feet can swell in as much as 10%
  • shopping and fitting shoes in the malls are the major causes of a swollen feet
3. Flats aren't always the fix

  • shoes that are completely flat can lead to pain in the knees, hips and back. This can also trigger a disorder called plantar fasciitis--wherein the band of tissue on the bottom of the foot that runs from the heel to the toes becomes inflamed.
4. The higher the heel, the greater the pressure on the ball of the foot.

  • 3-inch heel exerts 76% more pressure than a flat shoe. The perfect heel height is generally between one and two inches

Green Glamour

Had another fun photoshoot with another photographer and friend of mine, this time it's with Clyde. You might notice that I am wearing dresses colored with different shades of green. I'm not really fond of the color green, but it is worth the try. And green this year has really took a huge leap in the microcosm of fashion. This is just a preview and an appetizer for what I am about to show you in the next few days. A detailed shots of these outfits.

What I love the most in these shots is that the photographer brought out the natural smile on my face. It was more like having candid shots than a formal photoshoot. It was a stress-free and tension free shoot, and I am looking forward to future projects with this man! :)

Day Tripper

Here is the other half of my semender shoot with my good friend Ushabelle, and we decided to take on long day dresses. So I chose to wear a violet floral dress that has a sexy touch. One advantage of a maxi dress is that it is suitable for all women in every size. It has no exceptions except when it is about the height issues.

The thing about maxis, as what I have read on ehow.com is that it has this common design of having a dramatical upper portion either in a halter or strapless style. It enhances the bust and never fails to look women much thinner and sexier than they actually are. This is the magic of a long day dress that has been passed on through different generations.

The touch of an open back here is another feature of a maxi dress that is classic. It adds more attraction without even showing that much of a skin. The open back seems just like a teaser for people to look more into the outfit you are wearing and see the beauty of the dress. I personally like everything about my outfit because of its simplicity and the neat print it has in the dress.
As you notice, the dress basically has this pattern of having a tight fit from the neck down to the hips and from the hips downward it slowly starts to widen its hems and cuts. The whole drama of the dress plus th cooperative sea breeze in the location wherein we had our shoot perfectly complements each other and exactly the reason of the magnificent shot!

And hitting on the kind of make-up I decided to put on, it also blends well on the dress because it was just a light touch of the nude colors and a pink matte lipstick. So I still have that o'naturale look.
Our take on the maxis is quite daring, especially for my height, because maxis look best on a 5'6-er and above and considering my a height as a flat 5-footer so it's really risky. And also we tried not to wear any heels as of the moment and simply just flats. The idea of wearing flats is also cool because maxis are very versatile you can wear it anytime and anywhere may it be on travelling or having some outdoor activities (not the intense one though). How bout you guys? Would you consider wearing a day dress in one of your road trips or flights?

Things I will never Tell Anyone

 1. I am criticizing you in my mind No, I am not judging you. I just have the disease of wanting everything to be perfect even if it will...
